The Sehajdhari Sikh Party Supremo Dr. Paramjeet Singh Ranu threw a googli in Anandpur Sahib seat by announcing to contest as independent changing the scenario of the seat as the well known supporter of Captain Amarinder Singh felt neglected and took this decision.
Known as the saviour of UPA 2008 during no-confidence motion, Dr.Ranu played a vital role in convincing Member Parliament Mr.Sukhdev Singh Libra Chief WHIP of SAD and lifted him out from the Parliament to abstain from voting the NDA and thus earned permanent enemity with the Akalis.
The Sehajdharis Sikhs are a large community in Punjab and had always supported the Congress unconditionally but they felt betrayed as their cause of voting rights was not supported heartly in the Parliament by the Congress in 2016 hence they demanded one seat from the defeated lot as the issue is still alive in the High Court and will be deferred back to the parliament.
Dr.Ranu is harping on the issue of drugs as he claims that there are one lakh youth in every district who are being made addict of ‘bupronorphene’ an opoid drug meant for deaddiction which is making the youth infertile.
The drug was banned in 2010 from the clinics and hospitals and was available only in deaddiction centres but now on 28.3.2019 the Govt of India has again issued directions to make its availability freely on clinics of psychiatrists and hospitals which is a deeprooted conspiracy to promote addiction in the youth on the name of deaddiction in Punjab.
*Dr.Ranu claimed that the poppy husk like herbal medicinal plantation if legalized can replace these dangerous drugs and help in rehabilitation of the addicts very safely.*
Commenting on Manish Tiwari Dr.Ranu said he is a runner from ludhiana and is playing a friendly match with Akalis. On one hand a sitting Minister of the Congress Mr.Navjot Sidhu is making hue and cry against the cable mafia but on otherhand this former Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting Mr.Tiwari was hand in glove to promote the monopoly of Cable mafia in Punjab during his regime and ignored complaints of our party on this issue which was also made volatile by the Bains Brothers.
Dr.Ranu said Chandumajra is well known for his non responsive works which failed expectations of the residents.
Ranu said he is a son of an Ex Airman who fought two wars with pakistan and he himself is a medical practitioner at mohali for last 15 yrs, serving the poor selflessly and never charged the defence personels and media families as they deserve for their selfless service towards nation.
He said he is having a good support of his medical faternity patients and NGOs like Kissan Sangharsh Committee, Kirti kissan Unnat Society, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Vichar Manch, Punjab mukti morcha and many more.
Dr.Ranu was also accompained by Justice Iqbal Singh (Rtd) former Gurdwara Election Commissioner and Manjit Singh State President of Trinamool Congress Party who were seen in his support.
