Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman S. Jasvir Singh Garhi has taken suo moto notice of the alleged encroachment on the land belonging to Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj at village Dhaleta in Jalandhar district by the civil administration and police. He has sought a report from the Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Jalandhar.
Providing details in this regard, S. Jasvir Singh Garhi stated that the matter came to his notice through a newspaper report, which alleged that the land of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji had been encroached upon by the civil administration and police at village Dhaleta. Taking cognizance of this, the Commission has initiated legal action.
Directions have been issued to present the facts and relevant information regarding this matter before the Commission on August 26, 2025, through the Deputy Superintendent of Police.
