On the directions of SSP, Harmandeep Hans, IPS, and SP (Rural) Shri Manpreet Singh, PPS, SAS Nagar Police conducted a Special CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) in Dera Bassi today.
The operation, supervised by DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar, PPS, was carried out by teams led by Inspector Sumit Mor, SHO Dera Bassi, and Inspector Ranvir Singh, SHO Lalru, at Deha Basti and Guru Nanak Colony, Mubarikpur.
During the operation, police apprehended Upinder Singh s/o Menpal Singh, resident of Guru Nanak Colony, Daffarpur, and recovered an illegal .32 caliber pistol, five live cartridges of .315 caliber, and one live cartridge of .32 caliber from him.
FIR No. 354 dated 02-12-2025 under Section 25 Arms Act has been registered at PS Dera Bassi. Further investigation into forward and backward linkages is underway.
SAS Nagar Police affirmed that its drive against anti-social elements will continue to ensure public safety.
