Shiromani Akali Dal working President Balwinder Singh Bhundar has assigned duties to senior leaders of the party in view of upcoming assembly by-elections in Punjab.
Giving information, senior leader Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said, this has been done to gear up the party activities in assembly constituencies where polls are due shortly.
Former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has been named campaign incharge of the Giddarbaha assembly by poll. It may be recalled that SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal was himself active in this area before he was declared ‘Tankhayiya’ by Akal Takht.
Similarly, senior leader Hira Singh Gabhria will be campaign in-charge for Barnala City and Iqbal Singh Jhunda will be campaign incharge for Barnala Rural.
The party is yet to announce campaign in charge for Dera Baba Nanak constituency in Gurdaspur and Chabbewal Assembly segment in Hoshiarpur.
