The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today announced that on the auspicious occasion of 550th celebrations of Parkash Purb of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji, the holy service of painting the Sultanpur Lodhi city in white will be performed by the party with commencing of this divine sewa on September 5, 2019 by the party patron S. Parkash Singh Badal.
In a statement here, the party’s senior vice president and Spokesperson, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema informed that the party patron along with SAD president S. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Union Food Processing Industries minister Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, SGPC president Jathedar Gobind Singh Longowal will start this holy Sewa at Gurudwara Shri Ber Sahib at 10 AM.
“Besides SAD leadership and workers including sitting legislators, former legislators and members of SGPC, other religious and social organizations would participate in this collective venture to turn the holy city into white.
He further added that as Shri Anandpur Sahib was painted white on the eve of 350th anniversary celebrations of the birth of the Khalsa, the SAD has decided to give the same look to the holy city Sultanpur Lodhi.
“The party has taken this decision after feeling that entire Sikh Sangat wanted to see Sultanpur Lodhi be painted in white on the pattern of Shri Anandpur Sahib” he added.
He appealed to all the party rank and file to join this sewa wholeheartedly.
