SAD MLAs to approach DGP to demand action against Sukhjinder Randhawa

Chandigarh, November 25, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) core committee today demanded the immediate dismissal of Jails minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa for patronizing the killers of former Akali Sarpanch Dalbir Dhilwan as well as allowing gangsters a free run in jails in the State.

The core committee meeting, which was presided over by SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal, resolved that a delegation of party legislators would meet the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) and demand that a case be registered against Sukhjinder Randhawa as per the statement of Dalbir Dhilwan’s family.

It resolved that in case the DGP did not act in the matter the SAD would take up the issue with Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore and demand immediate action against him.

The core committee also noted that the Jails minister was misusing his official position to patronize the sand, liquor and drugs mafia and that the situation had become such that Randhawa was acting like the CEO of this cartel.

It said keeping in view the seriousness of the charges against the Minister and the fact that the Batala police was not likely to take action against him the entire case should be transferred to the CBI for a thorough investigation. SAD President Sukhbir Badal informed the core committee that he would attend the bhog ceremony of slain Akali worker Dalbir Dhilwan.

The SAD senior leadership also took strong note of the fact that gangs were being allowed to operate with impunity from jails in the State under Sukhjinder Randhawa’s watch. It said there seemed to be a Minister – Gangster nexus and that this nexus could only be broken with the dismissal of Randhawa.

Taking note of the statement of finance minister Manpreet Badal that the State’s finances were in dire straits, the core committee said this was a direct result of the loot of the State exchequer by Congress ministers and legislators in league with mafia elements. It said money which should be going into the treasury was being usurped by Congress legislators and honest officers were being forced to do the bidding of Congress leaders and their mafia operatives.

Meanwhile the core committee put on record its gratitude to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji as well as the Sikh Sangat for the successful organization of the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Sahab at Sultanpur Lodhi as well as all other religious places.

The core committee also condoled the death of senior BJP leader and former BJP State President Kamal Sharma and lauded his ‘sewa’ to society. It also condoled the death of two SGPC members Shingara Singh Lohian and Surinderpal Singh Badowal.

The core committee meeting was attended by Charanjit Singh Atwal, Balwinder Singh Bhundur, Jathedar Tota Singh, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra,Sikander Singh Maluka, , Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Gulzar Singh Ranike, Hari Singh Zira, Bibi Upinderjit Kaur,Bikram Singh Majithia, Surjit Singh Rakhra, & Baldev Singh Mann.
