SAD leaders acting as BJP agents to mislead farmers, agenda is to torpedo farmer unity: Jakhar

Chandigarh, September 20, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunil Jakhar said that Shiromani Akali Dal which has transformed itself into “Sukhbir Akali Dal” was now acting in the state as an agent of BJP in a bid to mislead the farmers; their aim is to weaken the parties which had united against the genocidal policies of the Modi government.

“Earlier acting as agents of BJP, the Akali leaders had tried to mislead the farmers about the “black laws”. They campaigned for the last three months in every forum, they also arranged a letter of the Union Agriculture Minister, supporting the “black laws” describing the same in the interest of the farmers, he said.

The state Congress president said, “When the sensible farmers of Punjab did not fall prey to their deceptive rhetoric and exposed the conspiracy, now with the ill-intention of disrupting the farmers’ unity once again under the pretext of resignation, they stepped back to Punjab from Delhi.”

Jakhar said that two facts prove that the Akali Dal was still not interested in safeguarding the interests of the farmers but was actually working for the fulfillment of the aspirations of its leaders sitting in Delhi.

Firstly, Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from the Union Ministry but at the same time said that the Shiromani Akali Dal would remain a partner in the Central Government. Secondly, she still says that she herself doesn’t feel that the agriculture amendment laws were anti-farmer but farmers were terming these as anti-farmers.

“Now that all the political parties of Punjab except Akali Dal and BJP, all sections of the society including all the farmers associations have united against the Modi Govt’s black laws, then these agents of BJP intend to torpedo the peasant movement. But the Punjab farmers have understood the tricks and gameplay of PM Modi’s Akali agents, none of them was prepared to listen to them, Jakhar added.Yes Punjab Online Since 2012
