SAD Haryana unit to hold meetings to gear up for forthcoming Assembly Elections

Chandigarh, June 12, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will hold three meetings in Haryana at Sirsa, Ambala and Kurukshetra in June to further strengthen the party base and gear up for the forthcoming assembly elections.

Disclosing this here today, party Haryana Incharge Balwinder Singh Bhundur said the meeting in Sirsa would be held on June 23, that at Ambala on June 25 and Kurukshetra on June 30.

Mr Bhundur said the SAD had stepped up activity in Haryana in the run up to the parliamentary elections by holding massive public rallies which were addressed by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. He said these rallies had set the tone for the poll results in Haryana in the Lok Sabha elections in which the SAD whole heartedly supported the BJP.

Mr Bhundur said as per the arrangement announced by Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the SAD would contest the assembly elections in alliance with the BJP and would be given an appropriate number of seats. He said while allocation of the seats could take some time, the SAD had decided to hold meetings in Punjabi dominated areas to galvanize the party for the assembly elections.

“There are around 30 assembly seats in which Punjabis are a major force to reckon with”, Mr Bhundur said adding the SAD would come out with a programme for the entire state after holding the three meetings this month.
