Chandigarh, January 18, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today expressed surprise why the central government had not taken note of the “Call Gate” scandal involving Republic Television Editor Arnab Goswami saying the BJP government should not let any media house compromise national security at any cost.

In a statement here, former minister Maheshinder Singh Grewal said it was shocking that despite disclosures revealing that Arnab Goswami had even leaked information about the Balakot strikes, the NDA government was yet to order an inquiry into the case.

MaheshInder Grewal“Keeping in view the fact the central government has done nothing in the case we demand the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court probe the case as the nation wants the truth in the case to be presented before the people”. Mr Grewal said the Chief Justice could even constitute a double bench to hear the entire case in a time bound manner.

Mr Maheshinder Grewal also requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch a separate investigation against officials of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) who leaked sensitive information to Mr Goswami on a regular basis as revealed in conversations between the latter and the Broadcast Audience Research Council chief Partho Dasgupta.

“It is clear from the conversations which are now in public domain that Goswami had access to top constitutional, ministerial and administrative appointments. It should be ascertained as to who leaked this information and whether any cabinet minister was also involved in the conspiracy to pass on information concerning the surgical attack to an enemy nation”.

The SAD leader also demanded a separate investigation into classified information in the possession of the Republic TV Editor as well as other staff members who were purview to the same. “Mr Goswami should submit himself to questioning in this regard in the nation’s interest. After all the unity and integrity of our nation is above everything”, Mr Grewal added.
