The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today demanded 12 hour uninterrupted power supply to the agriculture sector to facilitate paddy nursery as well as direct seeding of paddy.
In a statement here, senior SAD leader Jathedar Tota Singh said farmers needed uninterrupted power supply to sow paddy nursery. He said many farmers were also in the process of sowing paddy through direct seeding. “These farmers are complaining that there are repeated snags in supply of power. This needs to be rectified and adequate uninterrupted supply should be given to them”.
The SAD leader said power supply in the rural sector should be further strengthened in view of forthcoming paddy season from June 10.
