The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today condemned AAP Punjab Convener and Sangrur mp Bhagwant Mann for misbehaving with journalists and requested journalists to demand fresh dope test report from Mann before initiating any conversation with him.
Talking to newsmen here who complained about the shameless conduct of the AAP MP with a journalist who asked him about the role of AAP as a principal opposition party, SAD Spokesman Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said the conduct of Bhagwant Mann was reprehensible.
He urged journalists not only to demand fresh dope test reports from Mann whenever they met him but also asked them to carry alcometers to judge for themselves if Mann was sober enough to engage in any meaningful conversation.
Dr Cheema said Bhagwant Mann had besmirched the fair name of Punjab in parliament also where mps now smelled his breath to ascertain whether he was speaking under intoxication or not. “Now Mann is creating conditions whereby people will now check his intoxication levels before interacting with him in Punjab also”.
The SAD leader also condemned the leader of opposition H S Cheema as well as AAP legislators who kept mum and did not condemn Mann for misbehaving with journalists. He said this was also indicative of how much they valued the fourth pillar of democracy.
