SAD challenges AAP Govt to take action against Sukhvilas if it has any evidence of any wrongdoing

Chandigarh, May 21, 2023 (Yes Punjab News)
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today challenged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government to take action against the Sukhvilas project if it had any tangible evidence of any wrongdoing even as it accused it of raking up a non-issue to divert attention from its abysmal failures on all fronts.

Terming the averments of Rural Development and Panchayat minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal as a bunch of lies, SAD Spokesman Maheshinder Singh Grewal said “there is not an iota of truth in the lies being peddled by the minister. The project has not violated any law of the land. There is no illegality involved in the construction of the project”.

Asserting that the AAP government was resorting to a vilification campaign, Mr Grewal said “earlier the Congress government did the same for five years to take political advantage by raking up this issue. It could not substantiate any of the charges made by it. Now the AAP government is also following in the footsteps of the Congress government with the Rural Development minister even making outlandish charges that the land on which the project has been constructed is under a scanner. This is a figment of his imagination and will be proved so in due course of time”.

Mr Grewal said the fact of the matter was that the AAP government was desperate to divert attention from its abysmal failures on all fronts as well as immoral acts of its ministers and legislators including cabinet minister Lal Chand Kataruchak and the family of legislator Jagdeep Kamboj.

“The AAP government has also failed miserably to give governance to the people who are fed up by the complete breakdown of the law and order and goonda raj. Instead of tackling these issues the AAP government is indulging in witch hunts and launching vendetta exercises against its opponents”.

Giving further details, the SAD leader said “it is a known fact that the land on which Sukhvilas stands is an old property of former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. It was covered under British era laws as it is adjoining a forest.

Section 4 of the Punjab Land Preservation Act allows usage of the land if an equal amount of land is given for creation of a green belt. This was done and permission for the same was taken from the forest department. Moreover Sukhvilas stands on land which was leveled and part of the erstwhile farm of Mr Parkash Singh Badal”.
