SAD asks Kejriwal to curtail self publicity budget, condemns him for failing both living and the dead

Chandigarh, June 13, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today condemned Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for failing both the living and the dead and told him categorically to curtail his publicity budget and utilize the same for improving infrastructure of hospitals in the national capital.

In a statement here, party senior leader and mp Balwinder Singh Bhundur asked Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to stop the politics of blame game and cheap publicity and admit it was directly responsible for mishandling of COVID-19 patients as well as dead bodies.

“The AAP government should take immediate corrective steps to improve the health infrastructure with the Supreme Court indicting it for treating Caronavirus patients worse than animals”.

Balwinder Singh BhunderMr Balwinder Bhundur said the apex court had also pointed out that the situation in the national capital was horrendous, horrific and pathetic. “In such a scenario Arvind Kejriwal should shun negative politics and effect a positive change within days or resign immediately”.

The SAD leader said now it was clear that Kejriwal had misutilized public money during a time of pandemic and had spent hundreds of crores on self publicity. “This money could have been used to improve the condition of Delhi hospitals and ensure dignity to the last remains of those who died of the pandemic.

Kejriwal should not dupe the people through advertisements and should bring in real change to combat COVID effectively. This includes increasing testing which has decreased from 7,000 per day to 5,000 presently”.

Mr Bhundur also condemned Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia for criticizing the Lt Governor of Delhi solely because he took a pro-people decision to overrule the Delhi government’s order to reserve hospitals run by it for city domiciles. He said it was condemnable that the AAP Punjab unit had also not objected to the Delhi government’s decision to prohibit treatment to all outsiders, including people from Punjab.

The SAD leader said news emanating from Delhi that dead bodies were being stacked next to COVID-19 patients was both shocking and not tolerable in any civil society. He said besides taking care of the last remains of COVID victims, the government should form a mechanism to inform their next of kin and ensure they were able to attend the last rites.
