The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today announced that it was supporting independent candidates Ch Nirmal Singh and Chitra Sarwara from Ambala City and Ambala Cantonment respectively.
Disclosing this here today, SAD Haryana Incharge Balwinder Singh Bhundur said though the party rank and file had been conveyed this decision earlier he was reiterating the same to dispel any confusion on this score.
Mr Bhundur urged the SAD cadre to wholeheartedly support the candidature of Ch Nirmal Singh and his daughter Chitra Sarwara who were contesting as independent candidates. “I urge all SAD workers to work for the victory of the two candidates”, he added.
Meanwhile Mr Bhundur said the SAD had an alliance with the INLD for the Haryana assembly elections and was contesting three seats of Kalanwali, Ratia and Cheeka as part of this alliance.
