The Shiromani AKali Dal (SAD) president S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that S. Manpreet Singh Ayali will be the SAD-BJP’s joint candidate for assembly constituency Dakha for the by-election scheduled to be held on October 23.
Giving this information at the party headquarters, senior vice president and spokesperson of the SAD, Dr. Daljit Singh said that S. Ayali started his political inning from his native village Ayali Khurd and became president of the village cooperative society and subsequently elected to the post village head (Sarpanch).
He further said S. Ayali elected to Zila Parishad member on the SAD ticket on 2008 and soon unanimously became Chairman of Zila Parishad Ludhiana. “As chairman, he ushered his area into exceptional development and the then prime minister honored with Best Chairman award” he added.
Dr. Cheema said that S. Manpreet Singh Ayali was elected as legislator from Dakha assembly constituency on the SAD ticket in 2012 and he transformed the face of his constituency by initiating a number of development projects aimed at providing the basic amenities to his electorates.
“He is a very hardworking leader, strongly connected with grassroots. SAD has given him the responsibility of the general secretary as a reward for his services to the party.
