Sack ADGP heading SIT if you think only Kunwar Vijay Pratap can fix SAD: Majithia to Amarinder

Chandigarh, May 3, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asked chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh to sack the SIT ADGP as well as its other members probing Kotkapura and Behbalkalan police actions since he had lost faith in the entire police force.

In a statement here, former minister Bikram Singh Majithia said the chief minister had indicated that he did not have any faith in the ADGP level officer who headed the SIT or its other members despite the fact that all of them were personally handpicked by him. “This is the only conclusion that one can draw from the CM’s statement that former SIT member IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap, who had been relieved from his charge by the Election Commission, will be reinstated in SIT after the elections.

This proves that the CM is only happy with the functioning of the IG because he has been dancing to the tunes of the Congress party. Understandably all the other SIT officers, including its Chairman, have been found wanting by the chief minister. It seems the IG is a real life Mogambo for Capt Amarinder Singh as the latter feels only he can fix the SAD”.

Stating that he could understand the CM’s frustration at being being temporarily halted from pursuing his politically motivated and vendetta fuelled probe, Mr Majithia said the CM was free to reinstate the officer again after the polls. “The SAD stands by the truth and will not be cowed down by any witch-hunt, Mr Majithia told the CM adding “be free to investigate the police action by anyone.

We are ready to face this challenge. We will simultaneously also expose you (CM )and your government which is afraid of ordering a probe by an independent investigating agency monitored by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court”.

Mr Majithia said instead of indulging in theatrics by invoking anyone’s name, the chief minister should give an account of his two year performance to voters. “Punjabis want to know why Capt Amarinder is hiding his failures through these diversionary tactics”. He said Capt Amarinder should present his report card and tell farmers why he reneged on a solemn promise to waive off farmer loans completely.

“The CM should explain why he backstabbed the youth by refusing to implement the ghar ghar naukari yojna. He should tell why he denied scholarships to Dalit students and even winter uniforms to 12 lakh school children. These are the issues of Punjab”, Mr Majithia added.
