Chandigarh, January 5, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
The President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Mr. Sunil Jakhar today said that instead of politicizing the incident of Sri Nankana Sahib, BJP led NDA government must solve it by taking up the matter with the national government of Pakistan.

The President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee advised that the Union government to refrain from politicizing the sensitive issue.

He said that rather the Union government must follow Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, who has asked the Prime Minister of Pakistan to intervene for immediate action in the matter.

Mr. Jakhar said that instead of politicking on the matter concerned with the psyche of the Sikhs, the Centre must take up this matter with the Pakistani government for its immediate resolution.

The President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee said that the matter was concerned with the emotions of the Sikhs and it was unfortunate that the BJP led government was trying to justify its draconian law by politicizing this incident.

He said that Sri Nankana Sahib was a pious place for the entire humanity in general and Sikhs in particular adding that by politicization of this unfortunate incident was reflection of the myopic outlook of BJP. Mr. Jakhar asked the Union government to use its diplomatic relations with the neighboring country to ensure the safety of our religious places in Pakistan.

Slamming the BJP government, President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee said that it was unfortunate that by shedding crocodile tears on this issue BJP was trying to justify its Citizenship Act, which has been framed in contrast with the basic spirit of the Indian constitution.

He said that it was high time that the Pakistani government must be asked to ensure severest of severe punishment for the perpetrators of the heinous incident at Sri Nankana Sahib. Mr. Jakhar said that the psyche of the Sikhs has been bruised with this incident but the manner in which Union Minister Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri has reacted on it has further disappointed the Sikhs.

The President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee said that linking of this incident with Citizenship Act by BJP was reflection of its communal outlook and hatred for the minorities adding that it was shameful that BJP was trying to use the feelings of Sikhs for marketing of its draconian law.

He reminded the BJP that Sikhs were not political currency of any political party, which it could utilize for its vested interests. Mr. Jakhar said that in order to hide its sin the BJP was doing theatricals on this unfortunate incident.
