Lovely Professional University (LPU) team emerged as winners in the state-level RBI90 Quiz competition held by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The team’s outstanding performance has earned them a cash prize of ₹2 lakhs.
After competing against over 3,000 teams in the online round, Vishnu and Sri Vardhan, BTech CSE students of LPU, advanced through rigorous elimination stages, ultimately securing a spot among the top six teams from an initial pool of 90 during the prelims. Their victory in the final round in Chandigarh showcased their dedication and aptitude, which outshone other competitors to claim victory.
The RBI90 Quiz is a nationwide competition organized to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The quiz, aimed at undergraduate students across various streams, emphasizes general knowledge of history, economy, and current affairs. The competition has been structured into four phases.
Phase 1 was conducted online, leading to Phase 2, where 6 selected colleges competed in an on-stage elimination round. Winners of the state level progressed to the zonal and then the national rounds, with substantial cash prizes of up to ₹10 lakhs for the top performers at the national level.
Dr. Ashok Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, congratulated the LPU team on their remarkable achievement.
Dr. Mittal commended the dedication and intellect of LPU students for bringing honor to the university and encouraged the team to view each challenge in the upcoming zonal round as an opportunity for growth. Dr. Mittal affirmed LPU’s unwavering support and expressed confidence in their continued excellence.
This initiative of the Reserve Bank of India is the continued commitment to engaging with youth and advancing their financial literacy. The North Zonal round of the RBI90 Quiz will take place in Chandigarh later this year, and all the winning teams will compete for the championship.
