Chandigarh, June 21, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, who was summoned by the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, today appeared before the Commission and presented his version about his unparliamentary remarks.
Informing in this regard here today, the Chairperson of the Commission Mrs. Tejinder Kaur said that during the hearing Ravneet Singh Bittu defended himself saying that it was never his intention to make any statement against the Schedule Castes Community. ”If my statement has hurt anyone then I offer unconditional apology,” he added.
The Commission has now directed Mr. Bittu to present his version in writing within two days.
It may be recalled that commenting on the formation of SAD-BSP alliance Bittu had said that SAD had left some ‘pious’ seats for BSP. The comment was not taken kindly by the SAD and the BSP.
Bittu was earlier summoned to appear before the Commission on 22nd of June. However, Bittu requested the Commission to allow him to present his case before the Commission on 21st of June, as he had some prior engagements for 22nd of June. The Commission allowed Bittu to come and tender his side of the story on Monday, which he did.
