Rana Gurjit Singh’s fight against Coronavirus – What exactly this Punjab MLA is going to do – Watch Video

When most of the MLAs not only in Punjab but even in other states are looking towards their respective governments for strategies and funds to counter Coronavirus, Punjab Congress MLA and former minister Rana Gurjit Singh has chalked out a comprehensive plan to guard the people of his constituency against the deadly virus which is threatening and scaring the world today.

Always there on the field, meeting and hugging people smilingly, the Kapurthala MLA is all set to start distribution of more than 40,000 half-litre packs of Santizers to all the households in his constituency. The free distribution starts Saturday and is likely to complete within 2-3 days. These Sanitisers would be for the personal use of all the families in the constituency.

Apart from that Rana had been sanitizing Kapurthala Roads with Sodium-Hypo-Chloride sprayed with the big spray pumps provided by local farmers. “The sanitization of roads is already on. We have sanitized almost half of Kapurthala Roads in last 3 days and are all set to sanitize all the roads shortly after which we would be moving to Mohallas and streets with smaller back-pack spray pumps. The aim is to leave no stone unturned in our fight against Corona,” he said.

Talking to YesPunjab, the Congress MLA said, “Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has been leading Punjab from the front with his innovative, practical and bold ideas to safeguard the people of the state. Though the government is trying to reach out to every nook and corner of the state and trying to help the people by streamlining the supply of food and essential services besides delivering food to those who need it at their doorsteps, I will be there for the people of my constituency as I have always considered the people of my area as part of my family.”

Rana would be distributing over 900 half-litre sanitisers to the entire field force of Kapurthala Police, 250 officials out in the field from district administration and 150 judicial officers. “One must not forget these CoronaWarriors as they are out in the times of this deadly disease doing their duty during Curfew and the lockdown. That would be a humble salute and thank you from my side,” he said.

And that’s not all, Rana has planned his corona-strategy in phases. “I am planning much more for my people. They have always reposed their faith in me and I think I must stand with them in this hour which is all set to pass if we fight it spiritedly and unitedly,” he said.

Rana, who owns a Sugar Mill and a Distillery advised the government to allow distilleries so they can manufacture and push the supplies of Santisiers running short due to hike in consumption. “I requested the Chief Minister to allow distilleries to manufacture sanitisers. However, it required a L-21 License which is issued by a Central Authority. The Chief Minister was kind enough to agree,” he said.

The Congress leader has also set up a Control Room which would start functioning today itself for the people of his constituency. “We would be providing Medicines on tele-consultation with doctors and also reach out to people who have some major problem so that they can be shifted to Civil Hospital,” he said.
