Rana Gurjeet Singh facilitates 270 youth at state-level function

Technical education Minister of Punjab Rana Gurjit Singh today said that the Punjab Government has signed a MOU with the Microsoft to impart technical training to 20000 girls which have the educational background of Information Technology to provide them international level skills.

Addressing the youth here at IK Gujral Punjab technical university during the state level facilitation ceremony of high end job fair and self employment job mela , the Minister said that the chief Minister Mr Charanjit singh Channi has laid the foundation to provide the jobs to lakhs of youth and banking on that the department has been now focusing on the Artificial intelligence as it would play a great role in the lifes of people in the future especially in the IT and agriculture sector.

He further said that the sewermen of all Municipal Corporations would also be turned into skilled work force and a course for the same would be started from December 20.

Besides this, training to 60 nurses would be provided in respiratory courses at AIMS Bathinda, as the lack of trained staff during covid was felt at all levels. These nurses would further provide training to the nurses in Government hospitals.

The Minister also said that armed forces training Institute like Mai Bhagho Armed Forces Preparatory Institute Mohali and C Pyte insttitutes at Kapurthala have played a great role to prepare the punjabi youth to serve the country in armed forces and announced that the Punjab Government will strengthen these institutes to further facilitate the youth.

Congratulating the students who got jobs, the Minister also facilitated 270 youth who were selected during the Mega job fair held in December first week, out of which 70 were facilitated for self employment and 200 for grabbing the job opportunities during the job fair.

Director Employment Generation Mr MK Arvind Kumar, IAS, welcoming the Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjit Singh said that since the Minister took charge the Punjab Government has got selected 1900 candidates for jobs who received annual package from 2.5 lakh to 10 lakh.

Terming the self employment generation sector as a full of possibilities and opportunities, he said that the Punjab Government also facilitate the 2000 candidates for self employment generation sanctioned loan of Rs 48 crore by various banks.

Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included, Mayor Kapurthala Kulwant Kaur, Director Employment Generation MK Arvind kumar , Deputy Commissioner Deepti Uppal, Dr Sandeed Kaura Advisor to Punjab Government, additional Director Employment Generation Rajesh Tripathi , Tara singh , ADC (D) S P Angra, Deputy Mayor Vinod Kumar Sood , Congress leader Amandeep Singh Gora Gill.
