The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Wednesday announced a major administrative overhaul, appointing Air Marshal (Retd) Jeetendra Mishra as its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and elevating Swami Govind Dev Giri as the General Secretary.
The Trust also appointed Mahesh Bhagchandka, Madan Mohan Pandey and Nirmala Yadav as new trustees, filling three vacant positions.
The appointments, including Mishra’s selection as the temple’s first CEO, were approved during the Trust’s deliberations following recommendations of a committee constituted to select the CEO from a pool of more than 5,000 candidates.
Trust members highlighted Mishra’s more than 39 years of distinguished service in the Indian Air Force and expressed confidence in his leadership experience as he takes on the institutional responsibilities associated with the Ram temple.
Commissioned into the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1986, Mishra is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy. He also served as a commander during Operation Sindoor, described as India’s response to the Pakistan-sponsored Pahalgam terror attack.
As CEO, Mishra will be responsible for strengthening the temple’s administrative and financial management. His responsibilities will include temple management, security, staff administration, facilities for devotees and coordination among various departments and agencies.
Swami Govind Dev Giri has been entrusted with the role of General Secretary, while Mahesh Bhagchandka will take charge as the Trust’s Treasurer. The trustees also commended Krishna Mohan, who served as the internal General Secretary during the challenging two-month period.
Among the newly appointed trustees, 68-year-old Bhagchandka is a businessman and social worker based in New Delhi. He is the author of ‘Hindutva Ke Purodha’ and participated as a Yajman during the Bhoomi Pujan and Pran-Pratishtha ceremonies of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
He has also been associated with the initiative to install ‘Shri Ram Stambhs’ at 292 sacred pilgrimage sites linked to the Shri Ram Van Gaman Yatra. He is a member of the executive committee of the World Hindu Economic Forum.
Madan Mohan Pandey, 74, is a law graduate and advocate based in Ayodhya Cantonment. He represented Shri Ram Lalla Virajman and Mahant Shri Ramchandra Paramhans Das in the High Court and Supreme Court in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi case from 1990 to 2019.
Pandey served as Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh for six years. He is also Vice President of the Shri Hari Satsang Samiti and a patron of the Kathakar Yojana Prashikshan Kendra in Ayodhya.
Nirmala Yadav, 66, is an educationist with a Master’s degree and PhD in Hindi and Sanskrit. She served as a college principal for 19 years before retiring. She has also evaluated PhD theses and MA answer scripts and served for 15 years as a member of a university’s Executive Council.
