Cracking down on illegal immigration firms, officials of the district SAS Nagar administration raided illegal immigration center ‘Prime Consultant’ of Lohgarh, Zirakpur during a joint operation with the police and booked its owner for illegally running immigration business without requisite documents and valid license.
Giving further information, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan said that complaints were pouring in against immigration firm ‘Prime Consultant’, thus Acting SDM Dera Bassi Major Gurjinder Singh Benipal was assigned inquiry to look into the matter. “Joint team of Administrative officials and police raided the office of the firm in Metro City, Lohagarh (Zirakpur) last evening.
Meanwhile, management of the company could not produce any valid documents required to run the firm”, he added. The Deputy Commissioner said that rather management just has stated that they have applied for the license required to operate the firm.
Mr. Dayalan said that SDM led team and police party led by SHO Zirakpur Gurwant Singh today again visited firm’s office to initiate further inquiry and check documents but the office was locked.
Due to the suspicion and lack of required documents, a case under Section 24 of the Immigration Act has been registered against the owner Narinder Singh at Zirakpur police station”, said the deputy commissioner, adding that documents are being verified and action have also been initiated to verify the claims made by the firm’s owner regarding the documents. Besides this, the SDM has been asked to conduct a thorough investigation.
He categorically mentioned that “Such checks will be a regular process in the future.”
