Renowned Punjabi singer and actor Amar Noorie has reported receiving a threatening WhatsApp call from an unidentified individual, prompting the registration of a police case in Khanna.
According to the complaint, the caller, who claimed to be a Punjab Police inspector named Gurmeet Singh, issued threats, asking Noorie to stop her son from pursuing singing. The caller allegedly warned that harm would follow if the demand was not met. Alarmed by the call, Noorie immediately approached the Khanna Police, following which an FIR was registered against an unknown person.
Amar Noorie is the wife of the late legendary Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander. The couple’s sons, Alap Sikander and Sarang Sikander, are also associated with music.
Apart from being a well-known voice in Punjabi music, Amar Noorie has carved a successful career as an actor and has appeared in several Punjabi films. Police officials have confirmed that investigations are underway to trace the caller and verify the source of the threat.
