Punjab Vigilance Bureau nabs Senior Assistant cum Supdt. for accepting Rs.15,000 Bribe

The Vigilance Bureau, Ranger Ferozepur today nabbed Senior Assistant-cum-Superintendent red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.15,000.

Disclosing this to the media persons, Hargobind Singh, SSP(Vig.) Ferozepur Range said, Jasmeet Singh, SA-cum-Superintendent of Water Supply and Sanitation posted in the office of Executive Engineer, Ferozepur was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Jaswant Singh of Luthra Cool Home Ferozepur.

He further said that the complainant had approached the VB and alleged that Jasmeet Sngh was demanding Rs.15,000 for clearance of bills of Rs.1,30,000 of his firm pending with the department since 2017 for doing the work of repair/service of ACs, ROs and Water Coolers at the residence and government offices of officers of various departments.

After verifying his information, a vigilance team laid a trap and arrested Jasmeet Singh taking a bribe of Rs.15,000 in the presence of government witnesses Dr.Gurnoor Singh Vet Officer and Nabhdeep Bansal, SDO PWD.

He informed that a case under Section 7 PC Act 1988 amended by PC (Amendment) Act 2018 at Vigilance Bureau station Ferozepur and further investigation was under progress.
