Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the present Congress government as the most corrupt and hypocritical government in the history of Punjab and said that Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had made a mockery of the government.
Addressing the people of Punjab, Kejriwal said that in this election, Punjab should decide for itself whether it needs a puppet government that can play ‘Gulli-danda’ or a pro-people government to build schools and hospitals. Appealing to the people, Kejriwal said, “You have given opportunities to Congress for 25 years and SAD-BJP for 20 years and tried their governance many times. Give us (Aam Aadmi Party) a chance in 2022 too. “
The AAP Supremo appealed the voters to choose AAP, in a mass rally held in favor of Gurmeet Singh Khudian in village Khudian of Lambi constituency, which is considered as a stronghold of the Badal family. On the occasion, party’s State President and MP Bhagwant Mann, Harpal Singh Cheema, Leader of Opposition, Raghav Chadha, co-in charge of Punjab affairs, MLA Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Harchand Singh Barsat, General Secretary Punjab, Gurmeet Singh Khudia, AAP candidate from Lambi and other prominent leaders were present.
Addressing a large gathering of people in Lambi, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Punjab has seen the rule of Congress party for about 25 years and Shiromani Akali Dal’s for almost 19 years since 1966. Despite being in power for so long, neither the Congress nor SAD-BJP has done anything for the state. People have given them many opportunities, but the devastating results are in front of everyone. Therefore, give Kejriwal a chance now and you will forget about all the other parties. “
Commenting on the ongoing civil war in the Congress, Kejriwal said, “Navjot Sidhu is fighting with Chief Minister Channi, Sunil Jakhar is fighting with Navjot Sidhu, Partap Singh Bajwa is fighting with Jakhar. In fact, they are all fighting to plunder Punjab because they know that the Congress government is leaving in few days. All the Congressmen are looting Punjab beyond limits.”
AAP Supremo Kejriwal accused the Congress government led by Charanjit Singh Channi of being the most corrupt and hypocritical government in the history of Punjab, which makes hollow announcements every other day. Channi says sand rate has been reduced to Rs 5 per cubic foot, electricity has been made cheaper and cable rates have been reduced.
But, in real, people are not getting any benefits. Kejriwal said, “Chief Minister Channi is saying everywhere that he is from SC community. But Kejriwal is a member of every family in the SC community, who (Kejriwal) provides free education to every child of SC community, best treatment and free training to be an officer.”
Arvind Kejriwal said that ever since he had promised to give one thousand per month to women of Punjab, the leaders of opposition parties had been cursing him. The question is; where will the money come from? He said that it would cost a total of Rs.10,000 crores. Similarly, providing free electricity would cost Rs 2,000 crore. All this money will be collected by closing down the mafia in Punjab state. Kejriwal alleged that the ruling party leaders had looted the exchequer and imposed a debt of Rs 3 lakh crore on Punjab.
About Rs 34,000 crore from the Punjab exchequer goes into the pockets of these leaders through scams. This looting will be stopped after the formation of AAP government. And we will collect government money from the pockets of these thieves. Schools, hospitals and medical treatment in Punjab will be as good and free as in Delhi. Teachers, doctors and employees will not have to go on strikes. All levels of facilities will be provided to the people of Punjab.
Addressing in the public meeting, party’s Punjab President and MP Bhagwant Mann targeted Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal and said, “Badals have transport business, buses, planes (Aviations), hotels and many other businesses. But now, to mislead people, they are doing the drama of being farmers.”
Describing Congress as a lying front, he said that Congress is again asking for 5 years by giving an account of 80 days. But I want to ask the Congress who will give the account of four and a half years of Captain’s rule in which the present Chief Minister Channi and other congressmen have also been a ministers? Mann added that people will also ask for the accounts for other promises like employment, pension, debt waiver etc made by them in 2017 election campaign.
Exposing the lies of Channi government, Mann said, “Chief Minister Channi has put up bogus advertisements all over Punjab saying that he has made 36000 employees permanent. But can they name any 36 employees, who have been regularized under that promise?”
He added that Channi is only good at making hollow announcements, but the people are familiar with the falsehood of Akali and Congress now, so these parties won’t be able to fool them (people of Punjab) one more time. He urged people to look beyond ‘Panja’ and ‘Takkdi’ this time and asked them to give ‘Jharoo’ a chance in Punjab. He said, like the people of Delhi, Punjabis would never need any other political party ever.
Speaking on the occasion, AAP candidate Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that Jathedar Jagdev Singh Khudian has taken up the mantle of honest politics and he (Gurmeet Khudian) is following in his footsteps. That is why the people of Lambi are standing by them.
He said that Badal family and Captain family had ruled Punjab for many years and plunged the state into a debt of Rs. 3 lakh crore. Captain and Channi have spent Rs 9,700 crore on their helicopter rides, but the state exchequer is empty for the common people. Khudia appealed that those who looted Punjab would be removed from the power in upcoming elections.
Master Jagsir Singh from Bhucho, Jagroop Gill from Bathinda, Sukhbir Singh Maisar Khana from Maur Mandi, Samarbir Singh Sidhu from Fazilka, Jagdeep Goldie Kamboj from Jalalabad, Goldie Musafir from Balluana, Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar from Sri Muktsar Sahib, Neel Garg, Rakesh Puri, Jagdev Singh Bam, Jashan Brar and other AAP leaders were also present.
