Punjab Social Welfare Board Chairperson emphasizes need to launch mass movement for awareness on Malnutrition

Chairperson of the Punjab State Social Welfare Board Mrs. Gursharan Kaur Randhawa today said that there is a need to launch a mass movement to free Punjab from malnutrition. During a speech here today at Chetan Pura Nursing College in Harsha Chhina area in connection with the ‘Poshan Maah’ today, she emphasized the need to raise awareness about the nutrition in 0-6 Years children, pregnant women and the lactating mothers in her speech.

Mrs. Randhawa said that a woman can only give birth to a healthy baby if she gets nutritious food which is essential for the creation of a healthy society. Mrs. Randhawa also emphasized the need for publicity through various media sources to promote nutritional awareness.

Earlier, Mrs. Randhawa started the ceremony by lighting a lamp. The Secretary of the Board Mr. Abhishek was also present on the occasion. In addition to Mrs. Randhawa, the SMO Ramdas Mrs. Santosh Kumari, Mrs. Alka and Social Worker Mr. Mahavir also addressed the gathering.
