Punjab records 2nd Coronavirus death, deceased was in contact with 1st victim Baldev Singh

Punjab has recorded 2nd Coronavirus death. A patient who was found positive breathed his last Sunday.

Harbhajan Singh, a resident of village Moranwali in the district of Hoshiarpur was undergoing treatment at Government Medical College, Amritsar after being found positive.

Known as Baba Harbhajan Singh, he was in contact with Granthi Baldev Singh Pathlawa, the first Coronavirus victim from state. Baldev Singh had returned from a two week tour of Germany and Italy after which he was found positive and had died at Civil Hospital in Banga.

It may be recalled that after about a week of Baba Harbhajan Singh being found positive, three of his family members are also found positive. These included his wife, his son and his daughter-in-law.

Confirming the death of Harbhajan Singh, KBS Sidhu, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Punjab said the 60-65 years old victim was suffering from Diabetes and Hypertension.

Even as the death of Baldev Singh has risen the number of Coronavirus deaths in state to two, there has been no addition in positive cases found in the state for last two days.

The state now has 37 positive cases.
