Punjab Ministers slam Modi Govt for insulting Punjabis by not sending any minister for talks with farmers

Chandigarh, October 14, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

Punjab Cabinet Ministers Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria today slammed the Modi government for insulting the entire state by not sending any Minister for talks with the agitating food growers in the national capital.

In a joint statement issued here today, the Punjab Ministers said that the anti-Punjab stance of the Union government has been exposed as none of the Ministers bothered to talk to the farmers, who were invited by the Government of India for talks in wake of ongoing agitation of the farmers.

They said that why the Prime Minister or the Union Ministers were running away from facing the farmers, when they had got it vetted in the Parliament after giving their consent in Cabinet. They said that as a fact of matter Modi government is now running from farmers by making the officers as scapegoat.

The Ministers said that Union Ministers were on spree to justify the anti-farmers bill through virtual conference with the farmers. However, they questioned that what stopped them to face the farmers in reality and get credit for their bill.

They said that as a fact of matter the Union government invited the Punjabi farmers to national capital on one hand and the Union Ministers carried on their virtual sessions on the other, which was sheer insult of Punjab.

The Ministers unequivocally said that the Punjabis would not tolerate this attitude of the Union government. They said that the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had already met the farmers Union a few days back and now the state government has convened a special session of the Punjab assembly on October 19 to discuss the issue.

They reiterated the firm commitment of Punjab government to bail the food growers in this hour of crisis.
