Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi elects office-bearers for 2021-24

In the General Council meeting of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi (PLKA) held on 1st July 2021 at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh, under the chairmanship of well known artist Diwan Manna, President Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi and in the presence of Punjabi poet and media person Dr. Lakhwinder Jauhal, Secretary, Punjab Arts Council, the office bearers of the PLKA were unanimously selected by the general council members. Smt. Zoya Reikhi Sharma, known ceramic artist, was elected Vice President and known artist Sri Madal Lal was selected Secretary.

The executive committee of PLKA was also formed in this meeting. Earlier Mr. Diwan Manna was nominated as President of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi in a meeting of the General Council of Punjab Arts Council held on 27th April 2021 under the chairmanship of Shri Sanjay Kumar, additional Chief Secretary, Department of Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Govt. of Punjab.

In the same meeting other office bearers of the Punjab Arts Council including eminent Punjabi poet Dr. Surjit Patar as its Chairman, Dr. Lakhwinder Jauhal as Secretary and Dr. Yograj as its Vice Chairman along with presidents of the other two academies namely Dr. Kewal Dhaliwal as President Sangeet Natak Akademi and Dr. Sarabjit Sohal as President Punjab Sahit Akademi were also nominated unanimously.

The following personalities from various disciplines of visual arts will serve as General Council members of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi from 27th April 2021 to 26th April 2024. Sh. Diwan Manna, eminent artist (President), Smt. Zoya Reikhi Sharma, known ceramic artist (V President), Sh. Madan Lal, well known artist (Secretary), Sh. Beeba Balwant, known artist, poet and theatre person, Dr. Subhash Parihar, eminent art historian, Smt. Nonika Singh, well known cultural correspondent, Dr. Jaspal S, known artist, Sh Swaranjit Savi, artist and poet, Sh, Siddharth Wig, architect, Smt. Ritu Bansal, artist and Sh. Pankaj Sharma, photographer and media person, all members.
