Punjab Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal today met with the NRI family who was attacked in Haryana while traveling from Delhi to Punjab. The Minister, who was directed by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to look into the matter, assured the family that the Punjab government would file a Zero FIR and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
Dhaliwal also wrote to the Haryana Chief Minister and DGP, demanding that they identify and punish the culprits. He also requested a meeting with the Haryana CM to pressurize the state government to ensure the safety of Punjabis traveling to Delhi.
The Minister announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for the driver who saved the family from further harm during the attack. He also assured that the Punjab government would give a bravery award to the driver.
Dhaliwal was accompanied by AIG NRI JS Walia, SDM Vipan Bhandari, and other officials.
