Punjab Govt reconstitutes SIT probing Behbal Kalan firing case

Chandigarh, May 16 , 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
The Punjab Government Sunday re-constituted A Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate Behbal Kalan firing issue.

The three member SIT will be led by Ludhiana Range IG Naunihal Singh. The other members of the SIT are Satinder Singh SSP Mohali and Swarandeep Singh SSP Faridkot.

The reconstitution of the SIT was necessitated after the resignation and voluntary retirement of former IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh who was heading the SIT probing the Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan firing cases.

Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh offered to resign and opted for voluntary retirement after Punjab & Haryana High Court rejected his probe report in Kotkapura Case.

The government has already constituted a SIT to probe Kotkapura case. That SIT is headed by ADGP LK Yadav and has Ludhiana Police Commissioner Rakesh Agarwal and Surjit Singh DIG Faridkot Range as members.
