The Punjab Government has announced the election of President NRI Sabha Punjab which would be held on March 7, 2020, from 9 am to 5 pm in the office of NRI Sabha Punjab at Jalandhar.
Divulging the details, Kapurthala SDM-cum-Executive Director NRI Sabha Punjab Mr Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa told that the counting of the votes will commence from 5 pm onwards and the results will be declared on the same date.
He said that NRIs enrolled up to January 4, 2020, as members of Sabha will be allowed to participate in this election. He said that only NRI members will be allowed to vote and nominees cannot vote on the behalf of NRI members.
Mr Bajwa said that NRIs coming to vote must bring their passport along with identity card issued by NRI Sabha Punjab/NRI Sabha District Unit as proof of their identity. No other proof of identity will be accepted at the time of polling.
