Punjab gets ‘Krishi Karman Award’ for record Paddy Production – Capt Amarinder receives it

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today received the ‘Krishi Karman Award’, which was given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for record 199.65 lac metric tonne paddy production in Punjab during 2017-18 at Bengaluru on January 2, 2020.

This award, carrying amount of Rs. 2 crore, was received by the Additional Chief Secretary Development Viswajeet Khanna and Director Agriculture Sutantar Kumar Airi.

On the occasion, Captain Amarinder Singh lauded stupendous efforts of Agriculture Department for this rare honour at national level.

Khanna also apprised the Chief Minister that two progressive farmers of the state namely Surjit Singh Sadhugarh of Fatehgarh Sahib district and Harinder Kaur from Amritsar were also honoured for bumper production of paddy with cash award of Rs. 2 lakh each
