Taking strong exception to the violation of Model Code of Conduct, the Excise and Taxation Department Punjab today placed the services of Excise Inspector Gursewak Singh of Bathinda office under suspension with immediate effect.
Disclosing this here today, the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab Dr. S. Karuna Raju said that news and pictures of Gursewak Singh taking part in the election related programme of Shiromani Akali Dal in the presence of Sukhbir Badal, had been published in newspapers, which is gross violation of the MCC.
