The second wave of Covid in Punjab is making this worse for the state and its people.
According to the report compiled by the state government on Thursday, 43 people died of Covid and 2700 new cases came to light during last 24 hours. The number of new cases is the new record in the year 2021.
Out of 43 deaths in the state the maximum 11 were reported in Jalandhar. Eight deaths were reported in Nawanshahr, seven in Ludhiana while Hoshiarpur reported six deaths.
Apart from above, Amritsar, Mohali and Patiala reported 2 deaths each while one person each succumbed to Covid in the districts of Ferozepur, Gurdaspur and Sangrur.
NEW CASES
In the last 24 hours the state reported 2700 new cases. Jalandhar was on the top with 413 people testing positive. Ludhiana reported 340, Mohali 321, Amritsar 297, Gurdaspur 233, Patiala 231 and Hoshiarpur reported 217 new cases.
