Chandigarh, July 2, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)
The Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government is set to witness a significant development as it prepares for a Cabinet expansion scheduled for July 3 at 1 PM at the Punjab Raj Bhavan.
In this much-anticipated reshuffle, Sanjeev Arora, the newly elected MLA from Ludhiana West, will be formally inducted as a Cabinet Minister. Arora’s inclusion comes shortly after his by-election victory on June 19, with the results declared on June 23, marking a swift elevation from former Rajya Sabha MP to state minister.
Despite speculation surrounding further Cabinet changes, sources confirm that only one new ministerial appointment will be made during Thursday’s swearing-in ceremony.
With Arora’s addition, the Punjab Cabinet will now comprise 17 ministers, including the Chief Minister, edging closer to the constitutional cap of 18 members.
The induction also honors a pre-election promise made by CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. During the campaign, the party had assured voters that Arora would be made a minister if he emerged victorious—an assurance now being fulfilled.
This strategic appointment not only strengthens AAP’s political representation in Ludhiana but also reinforces the party’s commitment to rewarding electoral success and maintaining public trust.
Stay tuned as Punjab’s political landscape continues to evolve with this latest Cabinet move.
