Punarjot Society unveils Ashok Mehra’s first trilingual motivational book ‘River of Joy’

Punarjot Eye Bank Society is working intensively in northern India especially in Punjab with sole mission of “Darkness to Light” from more than 25 years and managed to procure 7500 corneas and performed 5300 free successful corneal transplants. It is a selfless service to spread awareness in our society to achieve required rate of eye donation and corneal transplants.

ABOUT THE BOOK “River of Joy” is an attempt to narrate some interesting, motivating, eccentric and challenging stories of Ashok Mehra and Punarjot’s journey of mission “Darkness to Light ” This book also highlights many current issues which need to be addressed to speed up organ donation awareness.

This book has human stories of ground level work and will convey strong emotional message to our society. We believe our youth can be benefited from this book. It will definitely motivate them to play greater role to build better and healthy nation.

This trilingual book will be huge Advantage to Punjabi, Hindi and English spoken students. It will also reach to the maximum people to convey the message to achieve Government’s goal of organ donation awareness. Most of the stories in this book are an eye opener and personal experience of the author Ashok Mehra during his social work of last decade.

Dr. Ramesh a renowned eye surgeon from Ludhiana thanked everyone for their presence. Recipient of State Award (2005) and a man behind Punarjot Eye Bank Society. This book as he well described is the journey of Punarjot. These stories are not just stories. They are the facts of life with deeper meaning. Mr. Mehra motivated many people for eye donation and help the needy with eye surgeries.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ashok Mehra, a selfless volunteer from United Kingdom serving in NGO Punarjot Eye Bank Society as International Coordinator from last decade. He is presently residing in Phagwara and working tirelessly 24/7 on eye donation awareness campaign. He has helped with 100,000 Eye donation pledges by organizing 500 seminars under his dynamic leadership in each corner of our communities.

He played major role to eradicate corneal blindness out of our society. He has taken our mission “Corneal blindness free world” not only to other states but also too many Asian communities residing in other countries such as UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe by organizing seminars abroad and through Radio/TV motivational talks. He has also used social media platform heavily to spread awareness of organ donation to millions.

Well a lot of praise & blessings from prominent persons of the society, friends & family pouring from all around the world. Beneficiary of Mission Punarjot, a visually challenged corneal blind patient now leading normal life as a Govt. teacher Sandeep Kaur, Punarjot ambassador was honoured on Helen Keller Day to motivate physically challenged persons to take participation in nation building.
