Protests continue against BJP leaders in Punjab, Haryana & Rajasthan; Dharna at Barnala

New Delhi, July 11, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Farmers gathered under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha at Barnala held a dharna protest and press conference at Dhanola and strongly denounced the foul language used by BJP leader Harjeet Grewal against farmers.

Gathered leaders said the the BJP and its leaders have lost social connect and relevance and in their utter frustration they are abusing farmers who have already had a moral and social victory against BJP leaders, who cannot even visit their own localities. The truth about the anti-people anti-farmer nature of BJP has been exposed.

A press release issued by Balbir Singh Rajewal, Dr Darshan Pal, Gurnam Singh Charuni, Hannan Mollah, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Shivkumar Sharma ‘Kakkaji’, Yudhvir Singh, Yogendra Yadav said, at Ganganagar, Rajasthan, BJP MLA Pyare Lal with party workers tried to disrupt the peaceful protest of farmers against Suratgarh MLA Rampratap Kasniyan who had used abusive language against farmers.

The farmers announced that dharna protest shall be held at the house of Rampratap Kasniyan. BJP MLA Vinita Ahuja was also denounced as she was trying to provoke farmers cause an untoward incident but the farmers were restrained and did not permit the conspiracy to succeed. Warning was issued to the MLA that protests would also be held at her constituency and farmers would display black flags against her wherever she went.

Black Flags were shown to Sunita Duggal, BJP MP of Sirsa at Fatehabad, Haryana, where she had come to attend meetings. A large gathering of farmers registered a strong protest against the MP in continuation of the decision to peacefully boycott all BJP leaders.

A team of farmers organisation Progressive Farmers Front hoisted the farmers union flag in Kargil and Ladakh. Samyukta Kisan Morcha and its constituent organisations are working hard everyday to ensure that the farmers protest reaches even the most remote corner of the country.

A huge contingent of farmers under the banner of SKM arrived from Sonipat, Haryana at Gazipur border today. The hundreds of farmers in the contingent arrived to lend numerical, physical and moral support to the farmers at Gazipur border. With the arrival of this contingent, SKM is sending a message to the BJP and its goons who had attempted hooliganism and attacked the farmers camp at Gazipur a few days ago – the message is loud and clear – farmers are united and will remain united and if any attempt is made to break up the protest by using strength, more and more farmers shall join the protest from all over the country.

A devastating fire broke out at Singhu border last night, gutting many farmers’ tents. The fire was brought under control by the collective effort of the farmers in the surrounding tents. There is considerable damage to shelter, possession and equipment of farmers but despite such loss and setback, rebuilding of the tents has begun in right earnest, which affirms the positive spirit of farmers who are at the borders of Delhi, battling all odds.

Farmer Sohan Singh, 46, of village Kauke Kala, Tehsil Jagraon, District Ludhiana of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Lakhowal) died due to electrocution at Singhu border. He is survived by his mother, wife, three daughters and a son. Samyukta Kisan Morcha expresses deep sorrow at this sad loss of life of a farmer warrior of the Delhi Protest and conveys its heartfelt condolences to the family.
