Protest march against Police for failure to arrest killers of Paramjit Singh

On the midnight of April 30,2019 a young man Paramjit Singh (29) was brutally murdered in the village Ghagon rorhanwali about 3 km from here. Although a FIR was registered by the police but it failed to arrest the accused for which anger had evoked among the members of victim family against the police for its failure to arrest the accused. Members of victim family and peoples of surrounding area organised a peaceful protest march which started from Khalsa College and finished at Police station en route to Anandpur Chauk.

The women, youth and elderly people took part in this protest rally, which used to carry black clips in their own hands, used their own shoulders and black bills the people involved in the March were shouting slogan “arrest the killers of Paramjit Singh as soon as possible.”Punjab Police murdabad” slogan was chanted by the youths who were participated in the peaceful march. Many of the patrons of the area also participated in the march.

Bibi Baljeet Kaur, sister of the deceased Paramjit Singh, warned the police officials that if the police did not arrest the accused within 48 hours then a victim family will take a serious action for which the whole police administration will be responsible.

The police authorities declared during a meeting with a delegation of the victim’s family, accompanied by the patrons of the area that police will arrest accused within 48 hours. Meanwhile Executive director of North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) Satnam Singh Chahal who was here to express its condolence and solidarity with the Mrs Sukhjit Kaur another sister of the deceased Paramjit Singh said they will leave no stone unturned to get justice and they will fight till end
