Jalndhar, Dec 21, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)
Today Angad Dutta along with workers of the youth Congress Jalandhar organised protest against Centre’s move to enforce the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA) and implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) across the country.

After taking blessings from Sh. Santokh Chaudhary MP Jalandhar, Around 200 workers started the march from Jalandhar Congress Bhawan to DC Office Jalandhar.

They also burns the effigy of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah outside DC office Jalandhar. They also raised slogans against Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and BJP Government and demanded the bill should not be allowed to implement.

During the protest Angad Dutta said that The CAA is discriminating and violative of the basic structure of the Indian Constitution. Religion cannot be a basis for allowing the person to settle in the country. Indian Muslims are constantly made to prove their allegiance and this will only make things worse for now.

Read with the National Register of Citizens (NRC), it means that if at all someone cannot get the required documents, if he or she happens to be a non-Muslim, then citizenship will not be a problem. The Citizenship Amendment Bill and NRC Will Together Destroy Our Country.

The NRC and CAB are twins of the same bad seed. CAB is clear ideological war on the Indian constitution, and a propaganda tool. It will divide the people of the secular country on the basis of their religions.

Parliament had no authority to pass a law that violated the basic principle and fundamental rights of the country. The act was against the basic tenets of the constitution and thus should be declared null and void.

He further added that Just Listen to the home minister as he introduced the Bill in the Lok Sabha on December 9, 2019. Pay attention to his choice of words and watch his body language.

It’s how one imagines a medieval despot who will grant citizenship or take it away, when he pleases. “Hum unko nagarikta denge, hum unko nagarikta denge,” he says again and again with a grand wave of his arm. ‘Hum’ – the royal ‘We.’ “Can Narendra Modi or Amit Shah themselves show documents to prove their forefathers are from Gujarat” questioned Angad Dutta.

He thanked Captain Amarinder Singh Chief Minister, Punjab who had already made it clear that his government would not allow the act to be implemented in Punjab. He also added that they will organise more protests across the city against the bill.

Those who joined the Protest are Randeep Sandhu Lucky, Bob Malhotra, Parveen Kumar, Jasskaran Sohi, Sunny Kumar, Charanpreet Singh, Manpreet Singh Mangu, Sunny Narula, Jagdeep Sandhar Sonu, Amrik singh kaypee, Rohit Pathak, Karan Pathak, Rahul Singhla, Harjodh Singh Jodha , Baljinder Kumar, Ashish Kumar, Pintu Saini, Parmjeet Pamma, Sanjeev kumar, Ishu Kalra, Sunny Kalra, Bobby, Harmeet Singh , Sahil Sohi , Amit Sharma, Raghav kumar, Vikram Dutta and many others.
