Process of 1-lakh Govt sector Jobs creation for FY21-22 to begin next month: Capt Amarinder

Chandigarh, August 21, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)
Assuring of fool-proof and efficient arrangements for paddy procurement by his government, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday urged farmers not to go for early harvesting of their rice crop.

Making it clear that his government was fully prepared for the paddy procurement, as it had been for wheat, the Chief Minister said bringing the grain to the Mandis early would be detrimental as it would simply lie around there till it gets picked up. Harvest and bring the grain only when it is ripe, he urged the farmers, while responding to a question by a Samrala resident during today’s edition of #AskCaptain on Facebook Live.

To a request from an Amritsar resident for restarting special flights to take Punjab’s vegetables to different parts of the country, and to tie up with industries for direct procurement as he had done during his previous term as chief minister, Captain Amarinder said he would surely be looking into it.

On a Ludhiana citizen’s plea for introduction of Dairy Technology and Agriculture Subjects in school Education from class 9th to 12th, the Chief Minister agreed that since Punjab’s rural
economy was totally based on Dairy Farming and Agriculture, there was need to teach these subjects scientifically.

He said he will write to the Center to include these in curriculum in the curriculum for classes 11 and 2. He further said his government will also go through the new education policy to explore the options.

The Chief Minister, on his attention being drawn to the matter, said he was asking the DGP to inquire into it and take action, including dismissal, against the Tarn Taran ASI caught consuming chitta in a social media post. Such actions will not be tolerated, he added.

Captain Amarinder disclosed, during the session, that the process of facilitation of 6 lakh jobs, including 1 lakh in government sector, between FY 2021 and FY 2022, will commence next month.

On the pending recruitment for PSPCL posts even 6 months after declaration of the results, the Chief Minister assured a Jalandhar resident that the process was delayed due to lockdown but appointment letters have already been issued to 2393 selected candidates for Assistant Linesmen and 71 Assistant Engineer (Electrical). Appointment letters would be now handed over to selected candidates of Accounts Officer, Revenue Accountant and Superintendent Divisional Accounts next week.

On a GNDU SC student’s complaint of the university refusing to give DMCs and Degrees till the government pays their fee to the university, the Chief Minister said he will take up the issue with the Centre and meanwhile, will ask the Vice Chancellor to issue the degrees after taking indemnity bonds as the money was being transferred directly to students and they were paying to the varsity under the GoI’s scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for SCs, which has now been discontinued.

The funds-crunched state government, which had been left to bear the entire burden of about Rs 780 crore to continue with the scheme, was trying to find a viable solution, he said, adding that he will not let SC students suffer on this account.

On a Mansa ex-serviceman’s complaint of lack of facilities in Jagtaar village despite paying all municipal taxes, the Chief Minister said the genesis of the problem lay in the decisions of the erstwhile Akali government, which had ruined Punjab’s villages due to indiscriminate conversion of village areas to urban areas in Bathinda and Mansa districts, thus depriving them of various grants.

It was possible that the area mentioned was actually urban since municipal taxes were being collected on it, he said, adding that his government was now in the process of releasing grants to the municipal committees.

The Chief Minister informed a Ropar resident that there was no correlation between Lal Dora and issuance of electricity connections, and hence extending the Lal Dora limit would be of no use in terms of getting new water & electricity connections.

On the dilapidated condition of link roads in Mahilpur, Behram, Garhshankar, Banga, Darshana and Anandpur Sahib, the Chief Minister said work on their repair would begin as undertaken as per the schemes approved for various stretches and would be completed over the next two years.Yes Punjab Online Since 2012
