National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Presidential candidate Smt. Draupadi Murmu arrived in Chandigarh on Friday to campaign. On her arrival, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, BJP State President, Sh. OP Dhankar, Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, Jannayak Janata Party State President, Sh. Nishan Singh and all the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs, Ministers and BJP, JJP MLAs welcomed her.
Smt. Draupadi Murmu appealed for support in her favour, saying that Haryana is the land of heroes and martyrs as well as the site of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita. This state has left an indelible mark in every field. NDA has made its policy clear by making a tribal woman the candidate for the post of President. She said that as a tribal woman I never thought that I would be made a candidate for this post. Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has proved the slogan of “Sabka Saath Sabka Vishwas” by nominating her as candidate for the highest post of the country.
I have worked for women, poor, tribals. Whatever challenges have come in life, I have accepted it and have always tried to do my best. Smt. Murmu said that she was always ready to work for the country. She hoped that apart from BJP and JJP, independent candidates too will support her in Haryana, alongwith support from MLAs and MPs of other parties as well.
Welcoming the Presidential candidate, Smt. Draupadi Murmu on this occasion, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that it is a matter of great pleasure that she has been nominated as the Presidential candidate by the NDA. The responsibility of the office of the President rests with the executive of the Constitution.
The Chief Minister said that Smt. Draupadi Murmu is the first Presidential candidate from the tribal category. Smt. Draupadi Murmu has made a special identity in public life by spreading awareness about education in the tribal society and serving the public for a long time as a public representative. Her life-struggle and her hard work are incomparable. In view of this, she has been made the Presidential candidate by NDA, it is a matter of pride for us. Smt. Murmu’s life has been dedicated to social service and empowering the poor, downtrodden as well as marginalized people.
Along with politics, she also has rich administrative experience. She has done excellent work in these areas. The Chief Minister assured them that not only will they get all the votes of the supporters, along with this, they will also try their best to get additional votes.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, while declaring his party’s full support to the Presidential candidate, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, said that the NDA has made Smt. Murmu the Presidential candidate for Dalit upliftment, women’s upliftment and upliftment of the poor. He said that the country will get such a President who would work to take forward the voice of the common poor in the form of Smt. Murmu. This decision will create a new dimension. Congratulating Smt. Murmu, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that she is confident that she will be elected to the Presidency with a historic victory.
Sh. OP Dhankhar congratulated Smt. Murmu. He said that Smt. Murmu has inherited leadership qualities from her father and grandfather. She has also been the best MLA. Along with this, she also has experience of being Governor. He said that the name of Smt. Draupadi Murmu is associated with Mahabharata and Haryana has been the land of Mahabharata. Sh. Dhankhar prayed to Mata Mansa Devi for making her journey successful. He wished that Smt. Murmu will be elected President with a big victory.
Independent MLA, Sh. Nayan Pal Rawat thanked Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi for nominating Smt. Draupadi Murmu as the NDA’s presidential candidate. He said that Smt. Draupadi Murmu has fulfilled her responsibilities as MLA, Minister and Governor in different positions. He declared his full support to Smt. Murmu. Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) National President, Sh. Sukhbir Singh Badal along with his MLAs met Presidential candidate Smt. Draupadi Murmu in Chandigarh. Sh. Badal also gave full assurance of supporting Smt. Draupadi Murmu.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, BJP National Minister, Sh. Ritu Raj Sinha, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta, BJP Mahila Morcha National President, Ms. Vanathi Srinivasan, Union Minister, Sh. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister, Sh. Anurag Thakur, Punjab BJP State President, Sh.
