Chandigarh, March 1, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday appointed strategist Prashant Kishor as his Principal Advisor.
The appointment comes ahead of 2022 State Assembly Elections. Capt Amarinder Singh himself announced Kishor’s appointment by tweeting from his Twitter handle.
The Tweet reads, “Happy to share that @PrashantKishor has joined me as my Principal Advisor. Look forward to working together for the betterment of the people of Punjab”
He has been appointed in the rank and status of a Cabinet Minister.
Prashant Kishor had earlier worked with Capt Amarinder Singh and the Punjab Congress during 2017 Assembly Elections. He had designed Amarinder’s poll campaign which proved to be a success and the Congress was able to win with a thumping majority.
Sources said that Kishor, besides designing strategy for the 2022 polls, would also be seeing that the promises made by the Congress party during 2017 campaign are not only fulfilled but a message goes across that Amarinder has delivered as promised.
Kishor, however, at the moment is tied up with Mamata Banerjee and the TMC for the West Bengal elections which have already been announced.
Interestingly, Kishor had tweeted that he would leave Twitter if the TMC gets defeated in 2021 assembly polls and the BJP forms a government.
The Chief Minister who was earlier reluctant, had indicated that he would be running for another term.
It seems that Kishor has already started working for Capt Amarinder. Even as PPCC Chief Jakahr announced it, but ‘Captain for 2022’ slogan seems to be coined by Prashant Kishor.
