The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has decided to install portraits of 5 Sikh personalities, including former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, at Sikh Museum in Sri Darbar Sahib Complex, Amritsar.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the executive of SGPC, the highest Sikh body which manages the affairs of Sikh Gurdwaras.
Informing about the decision, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, the President of SGPC, revealed that the executive committee has approved installation of portraits of five Sikh personalities.
They include former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Singh Sahib Giani Mohan Singh – a former head granthi at Sachkhand Harmandar Sahib, Baba Inderjit Singh Rakbewale, Baba Bishan Singh Tarna Dal – Baba Bakala and SGPC Member Randhir Singh Cheema.
The executive committee of the Sikh body also paid tributes to Singh Sahib Giani Mohan Singh, Baba Inderjit Singh Rakbewale, former SGPC member Major Singh Swaddi, Sikh preacher Giani Pinderpal Singh’s father Hardayal Singh and the four sikhs who were killed during an attack in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.
