Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is now all set to attend the coronation ceremony of newly appointed Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu and four working Presidents.
Besides Sidhu, Kuljit Singh Nagra, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Sukhwinder Singh Danny and Pawan Goel (all working presidents) are scheduled to take charge of their respective offices on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11.00 AM.
Kuljit Singh Nagra and Sangat Singh Gilzian today met Capt Amarinder Singh at his Siswan farm house. The two leaders carried two invitation letters. One written by Sidhu and the other by Sidhu, four working presidents, some ministers and MLAs.
After the meeting with the Chief Minister Nagra and Gilzian confirmed that Chief Minister would be attending the coronation ceremony.
Interestingly, in his letter, Sidhu said, “I have no personal agenda, only a pro-people agenda. Thus, as the eldest of our Punjab Congress family, I request you to please come and bless the new team of PCC on the ccasion of our taking charge at Congress Bhawan..”
Sidhu also wrote, “My resolve and commitment on Punjab’s issues and fulfilling High Command’s pro-people 18 point Agenda for the welfare of every Punjabi is well known to you and all. I am and will remain steadfast on that commitment with blessing of the Congress party workers.”
Apart from a personal letter from Sidhu, another letter signed by Sidhu, 4 working presidents, Ministers, MLAs and Punjab Youth Congress president Brinder Singh Dhillon also requested Chief Minister to be part of the event. Interestingly, two AAP MLAs Jagdev Singh Kamalu and Pirmal Singh Khalsa, who joined Congress along with Sukhpal Singh Khaira are also the signatories to the invite.
