To mark World Hepatitis Day, the Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (PILBS), Mohali, will organise a special Liver Health Camp on Tuesday, July 28, offering a comprehensive package of advanced liver diagnostic tests and specialist consultation for ₹1,000.
The camp will begin at 9 am at the institute’s Outpatient Department (OPD) premises and is being organised in line with this year’s World Hepatitis Day theme, “Let’s Break It Down,” with the objective of promoting early detection and making liver healthcare more accessible and affordable.
PILBS Director Dr Virendra Singh said the special package includes FibroScan, Ultrasound, Liver Function Test (LFT), Renal Function Test (RFT), urine routine microscopy, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C screening, along with consultation by a hepatology specialist.
Urging people to take advantage of the initiative, Dr Singh said the camp is intended not only for patients suffering from liver diseases but also for individuals who wish to assess the health of their liver through preventive screening.
“This camp is not only for diagnosed liver patients but for everyone who wants to be assured that their liver is healthy,” he said.
He emphasised that timely screening and early diagnosis are crucial in preventing serious liver disorders and complications. Regular health check-ups, he added, are equally important for people without symptoms, as many liver diseases remain undetected until they reach an advanced stage.
PILBS, Punjab’s premier super-speciality institute dedicated to liver and biliary diseases, has appealed to people from across the state to participate in the camp and make liver health a priority.
