At village Jalalpur, one a hotspot of the drugs, the villagers of the district on Saturday assured fulsome support and cooperation to the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s unique drive Yudh Nasheyan Virudh to wipe out drug menace.
Harmanpreet Singh, a resident of village Budhi praised the Nasha Mukti Yatra launched by the Punjab Government, calling it a very commendable step. He added that he, along with everyone else, stands with the government in its mission to make Punjab drug-free.
Paramjit Kaur, a resident of village Urmar, expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister and his government for launching this noble initiative which will save ther coming generations from drugs.
Karan Singh Bindu, a resident of village Khangwari appreciated the recently launched Nasha Mukti Yatra saying that it will help in keeping the youth away from drugs and enable them to contribute to building a healthy and addiction-free society.
Atinderpal Singh, a young man from village Dhaddiala, who overcame drug addiction during the ongoing battle against drug abuse, shared his experience and said that addiction is truly like a plague. He explained that drugs had harmed him physically, mentally, and financially, and even broke his family relationships.
He wanted to quit, but couldn’t find the right path. Eventually, he sought treatment at a de-addiction centre run by the Punjab Government, and today, he is completely drug-free. He expressed that everyone should support the Yudh Nashian Virudh Campaign being led by the Bhagwant Mann Government, as this is not just a fight against addiction — it is a fight to save our youth and the future of Punjab, and one that we must win together.
Gurpreet Singh from village Bullowal, while speaking about his experience of quitting drugs, said that addiction is harmful in every possible way. Because of drugs, he lost a lot — his social and family life was completely destroyed.
Eventually, the de-addiction centre run by the Punjab Government became a ray of hope for him. After receiving treatment there, he was able to come out of the trap of addiction. Today, he is living a happy and drug-free life with his family. He urged the youth to never even think of getting into drugs, not even by mistake.
