People all set to punish leaders behind scuttling probe to protect Badals: AAP MLAs

Chandigarh, August 30, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab, has lost all hopes of justice in the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and Behbal Kalan – Kotkapura firing incidents given the way probe by the central and state government agencies was pushing it into oblivion, saying it had hurt sentiments of the people across the world.

In a joint statement issued on Friday, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema, Deputy Leader of Opposition (Dy LoP), Bibi Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, Core Committee Chairman, Pricncipal Budh Ram, Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Prof Baljinder Kaur, Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Jai Krishan Singh Rori, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, and Kulwant Singh Pandori (All MLAs), said the successive governments had miserably failed to assuage the hurt sentiments of the people by finally bringing those behind the acts to justice.

They further added the special investigative teams (SIT) set up by the government of Punjab and central government-controlled CBI to investigate into the incidents, stating that all were engaged in offering a protective coverage to the ‘real’ culprits, saying that whenever the accusing finger was pointed towards the Badals, the agencies chose to go into an overdrive protect the Badals, citing the recent U-turn made by the CBI and the alleged non-coordination and regular bickering among the investigating top brass in the Prabodh Kumar-let SIT team were the latest instances, which proved the point.

Harpal Singh Cheema and other leaders of the party had demanded that those officers posing roadblocks in the investigations should be shown the doors and the probe be made time bound. They added that if Captain Amarinder Singh failed to do so and prolonged the investigation, it would be presumed he was playing the card to delay and derail the delivery of justice to fix Badals, as the Modi-led government was ‘misusing’ the CBI.

The AAP leaders said that if the government in the saddle, which was voted to power on the promise under oath of taking the investigation to a conclusive end within four weeks of assuming power, failed to make the best of the ‘last’ opportunity to come clean on the issue of religious import, he (Captain), the Badals and the who’s who of the BJP helming the affairs should get ready for the final verdict from the peoples.
