Punjab Civil Services Officers Association has sought cancellation of FIR against one of its members Mr Tarsem Chand who was allegedly involved in a ‘false case’ by the Vigilance Bureau.
The Association has also decided to take up the matter with Smt Vini Mahajan, Chief Secretary-cum-Principal Secretary Vigilance Punjab and sek justice against the treatment meted out as well as violation of statute and also convey the resentment prevailing in the cadre.
A meeting of the Executive Body of PCS Officers Association attended by approximately 40 officers from various districts of the state was held under the Chairmanship of President Sh. Rajiv Gupta in which the matter of lodging of an FIR against Sh. Tarsem Chand PCS and arrest of the PCS officer in an arbitrary , hasty and malafide manner was discussed.
The Association condemned such an action and resolved to support the officer in every manner and stands by him in this hour of difficulty.
The Association demanded from the Government to take action and cancel the said FIR besides checking violation of the statute.
The Association also demanded issuing a Standard Operating Procedure for such case from the Chief Secretary-cum- Principal Secretary Vigilance.
The Association also decided to wait till Thursday for the redressal of the grievance after which future course of action shall be charted out.
